17 weeks!

As in the past week, here is the 17th week pic from http://www.whattoexpect.com/. I think I felt a little flutter last night going on in my belly. Hopefully there will be more of that in the next few weeks!

Results

Dr. Keating called and left a voicemail this morning that our Maternal Serum Testing Blood Work results are in and everything is perfect. This blood work was to determine if there is a chance the baby could have Downs Syndrom and other abnormalities I believe. So we're in the clear!

Doctor's appointment is on Tuesday again. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat one more time! Curious about the weight gain as well. As of now, I'm at -3. Lost 4 lbs the first time after my initial weigh in and gained 1 last time. So not too bad so far.

We started playing baby lullabies to my belly at night. We've heard that if you play it regularly and teh baby gets familiar with it, it could help later on. So we've decided to play lullabies before I go to bed in hopes that maybe it will put the baby asleep later on! I discussed this on the www.whattoexpect.com message board and other mothers have done this and it worked! So we'll see!

16 weeks!

Here's my 16th week picture from http://www.whattoexpect.com/

All is well, 16 weeks are done so far! Can't believe I'm in my 17th already! 2.5 weeks and it's ultrasound time! We're very anxious for that! I've decreased my Diclectin again and am only taking 1 at night now. This weekend I'll try to stop that one too! I've been feeling good during the day without the one I take in the morning, so I would say my sickness is gone!
Today is Wes' first day of school! I'm so proud of him!
As well it's our 2nd anniversary! Hard to believe 2 years ago today we got married! Some days it seems like yesterday, some it feels like years ago! hahah!!! Just kidding honey!!! Love you very very much!!

News - good, bad, ugly

Hmm, where shall I start?!?!

Bad/Ugly - I didn't get the job at DOT that I was so hoping to get. This means my casual work here wtih NBCC will end November/December and I'll be done work until after baby and maternity leave until I find another job. In reality maybe it's a good thing too, give me lots of time to prepare. But then what do I do about Unemployment. I doubt anyone will hire me for a month or two with a big belly! So maybe my doc will work with me and give me a sick note?!?!? That way I don't have to dig into my maternity leave before hand. Fingers crossed for me.

Good - Wes got into school!!! Fully funded by Depart of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour!! He starts on Monday. He's been working in colaboration with Career Flight in order to get the funding since early July due to his disability (shoulder). So Wes starts at Academy of Learning in Office and Business Skills on Monday, September 24!! I'm sooo very proud of him! He had to do a lot of work in order to get this!

I think that's my news so far. Oh yeah, we registered at Walmart last night. It was fun!! So if we decided to buy more stuff, we'll just take it off there. One thing I do want that is not there is a Bumbo chair and also one of those half moon pillows for breastfeeding.

That's it for now!

It's our 2 year anniversary this coming Monday!! Imagine, 2 years already! I took Friday off, so we may head to Moncton to get away for the day. Maybe Julie will have had little Cassandra by then and we can visit both of them!!!

15 weeks

Here is my 15th week pic from http://www.whattoexpect.com/

As you can see the baby is growing and looking more like a little baby everyday! It was amazing to hear the heartbeat this past week, made us both melt! Can't wait for our next appointment to hear it again! Next appointment is scheduled for October 2nd, then ultrasound is October 11.

This week was pretty good, still tired but that's mainly from the diclectin. I think I may cut back a bit this weekend and see how it goes. Doctor told me to start slowing it down and see how it goes. If I'm still sick then to stay with the regular dose.

We got our layaway out last night that we put down a few weeks ago. We got a change table pad for the dresser, monitors, safety visors for the car, sheets, crib mattress pad, and the thing that you place the baby between when they sleep so they don't roll over! We're going to go again next week and lay some more stuff away! It's sooo much fun!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a HEARTBEAT!

That's right, today at our appointment we got to hear the heartbeat. Priceless! It didn't take long either, within 5 seconds of her having the doppler on me she found it! 150bpm! Tears immediately filled my eyes and ran down my cheek. Both of us couldn't contain ourselves! Now I actually feel pregnant! I mean I did, positive pregnancy test, all the sickness, aches and pulls in my abdomen but hearing the hearbeat polished it off! 1 month today is ultrasound!!

I'm going to be a mommy and Wes is going to be a daddy! ;o)

14 weeks

Here is a pic of what is supposidly going on in my belly this week thanks to www.whattoexpect.com

Still feeling pretty good. I love Diclectin, although I'm quite tired. It says drowsiness is a side effect, seems like I'm getting a good dose of it. But I shall no complain as I can eat what I want now! Can't eat as much, but that is a good thing. We head to the doctor on Tuesday to hear the heartbeat or heartbeats as my in-laws keep telling me!

Will write again soon!

Diclectin is a godsent!

Wow, I feel like a total different woman!!! I started Diclectin Thursday night have felt like a million bucks ever since! Leah wasn't lying when she swore that it worked! I should have taken the doctor up on this a while back. I went through 7 long weeks of sickness! This drug is very safe, no harm to baby and no real side effects that I've had anyway. They say drowsiness for the first few days, but I couldn't really tell! I still get tired just from the pregnancy, so that's not change.

God Bless Diclectin!
