We had another check up today. We found out that we won’t find the sex out at that ultrasound appointment that is scheduled next week. That one is done by Radiology and I go in alone, they do the measurements then Wes can come in for a few minutes, no pics no nothing. The next one – that is scheduled by Maternity Ward is the one they will disclose the sex and give pics if you want it. So I’m a bit disappointed, I think Wes is too. Anyway, what can you do. I’m not sure when that appointment is, but am hoping to find out soon. I guess they call you around 20 weeks to set up an appointment for you to go to the hospital to the Maternity Ward to go through all that stuff plus prenatal classes, etc. But I don't know what week that appointment is. Doctor mentioned possibly when they do the gestational diabetes test, but I don't know what week that is either.
All in all, appointment went ok besides that. Heartbeat was 145!! I gained 2 lbs but am still in the minus from when I started. She’s upping my blood pressure pills a bit because my blood pressure was up and has been for a few weeks (I’ve been feeling like it’s up more the past two weeks). I had issues before hand with it, so it's not a suprise.

you should plan your appointments in dalhousie...I found out at my 16 week ultrasound....that stinks...they can still tell you at that appointment.....they will be able to see....maybe question them a bit!!!!......gestational is somewhere in you twenty weeks.....but I went for about 5 of them because My urine kept showing high counts..but that is me.....besides...hope all continues to go well..take care and love ya..
Yah i think I did my sugar test at 20ish weeks. In NS they WONT tell you the sex or give you a pic. I think they tell you at IWK and now there is a clinic in Hali. some people have reactions to the sugar drink but thankfully I didnt....it taste like flat orange pop.
Michaela's heart beat was always high...like 145 or a bit higher...she was a busy bee
Our test here for gestational diabetes is usually at about 28 weeks but can be anywhere from 24 to 28 weeks. Thats weird with radiology though eh. I always thought those guys were a bit strange. Take care.

Corey's girlfriend had her ultrasound in radiology today. They took all of the measurements, then let Corey in to see. She didn't say "it's a girl", but it's a girl. No pictures for them either, but at least they know what it is! So it's not a total loss!
